At the age of 19, Ivan Karizna came to international attention after winning the 3rd Prize at the renowned Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Since then, he has won 1st Prizes in numerous competitions such as the Suggia Competition in Porto, the Umanitaria International Competition in Milan and the Luis Sigall Competition in Chile. He also distinguished himself at the 2017 Queen Elisabeth Competition where he won the 5th prize as well as the two Audience Awards, for the Klara and Musiq3 radios. Invited by many festivals such as the Festival of Colmar, the Festival of Spring Arts Monte Carlo, the Rostropovich Festival in Berlin etc., Ivan Karizna is appreciated for his exceptional talent by many famous musicians and collaborates with great artists. Among them are Andras Schiff, Gidon Kremer, Nicolas Angelich, Yuri Bashmet, Jerome Ducros, Ivry Gitlis, Mathieu Herzog and Fazil Say. Ivan Karizna plays frequently with conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Ion Marin, Mikhail Jurowsky and Vladimir Spivakov. He has gained an international reputation and has performed on many continents, in the most prestigious halls: the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Salle Pleyel, Cortot and the Philharmonie de Paris, the Bozar Palace in Brussels, the Benaroya Hall in Seattle. He has performed with many renowned orchestras, including the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchester de Paris, the Jalisco Symphony Orchestra in Mexico and others.
